Food talk from a person who enjoys eating (and often eats too much)

Better than the Yellow Pages

Being a shameless gourmand, I'm constantly on the look out for new places to eat and drink. I came across this new site that's a Boston wiki (something like wikipedia). Currently, there are 1,795 restaurant listings! You can also break down the restaurants by neighborhoods, type of food, delivery, etc. There's even an interactive map that shows the location of the restaurant as your mouse scans over the listing.

Check it out and tell me what you think. You never know what you'll come across and what new foods you may find!

Thanks for checking us out! The goal of Povo is that you can "cut" that restaurant data any way you please, as opposed to Yelp/CitySearch/etc where you have to wait for a developer at the company to make some new feature. Want to search restaurants open on Sundays before 10 for buffet brunch? We can do that (assuming somebody told us). So it of course relies on people to be convinced Povo is worth their time to contribute. If they do contribute, we feel that the technology platform underneath will reward them much more than other places covering similar topics.

(Not to mention that you'll never find parks on those other sites, or public bathrooms, or anything else the Povo "community", once we have one, will decide to put there.)

Thanks again.

Hey Max-

No Problem! I think your site is great! Much better than Yelp and CitySearch. Now we just have to keep it updated as good foodies should!
